Alcaraz: We lacked intensity

Lucas Alcaraz hit out at his Granada side after they lost 1-0 to Espanyol on Friday evening.

El Grana went down at Cornelia-El Prat yesterday thanks to a late Hector Moreno goal, despite the Periquitos going down to 10 men on the half hour mark when Victor Alvarez was given his marching orders.

“We lacked a spark,” he told a Press conference. “There was no intensity to our play.

“We have to improve in many areas if we want to win games in this League.

“We have to start being more competitive and play with more intent – that’s what we lacked.

“After their sending off they retreated and tried to hit us on the counter-attack. I thought we controlled the game, but we fell into their trap.”
