Sevilla Coach Unai Emery is not in danger of the sack despite criticism from fans and a series of poor results.
Marca reports that sporting director Monchi, currently based in London, has given his full support to Emery and President Pepe Castro has taken Monchi’s words to heart.
Sevilla haven’t won in La Liga since January 5, losing two and drawing two. They are currently seventh, 12 points short of fourth-place Athletic Bilbao.
But Champions League qualification isn’t the club’s aim this season, despite Emery saying he was targeting a top four finish.
Sevilla next play Barcelona and Valencia and even negative results in those games would not change the Coach’s position, the report states, although it does add that poor form wouldn’t be tolerated forever.
