Thievy unsure over future

Thievy Bifouma has said he doesn’t know who he’ll be playing for by Monday as he still waits for an Espanyol exit.

The French forward has spent much of January attempting to engineer a move away from Cornella-El Prat but none of his suitors, which are said by Mundo Deportivo to include Malaga, Getafe and Rayo, have been able to agree terms with Espanyol.

A fee between €2m and €3m is said to be the amount Espanyol are asking for to let Thievy leave and while he does want to move on, Thievy says if he has to stay at Espanyol, he will.

“I don’t know where I’ll be on Monday,” Thievy said.

“I don’t have a problem with [Coach Javier] Aguirre. The relationship is good.

“And if I have to stay, then I’ll stay.

“It’s not a personal issue with the Coach or my teammates. It’s something else.”
