Malaga optimistic over Thievy

Malaga are confident they will agree a deal to sign Thievy Bifouma from Espanyol this month.

Thievy is said to share Malaga’s good feeling about the proposed transfer despite Espanyol having previously said that if the forward was to be sold, they wanted him to leave La Liga.

An offer from Rennes was accepted but Thievy has always preferred the move to Malaga.

A fee of around €2m is expected to be agreed, AS reports, although the exact structure of the deal has yet to be decided.

Malaga are also considering other options, including Ezeqiuel Rescaldani, of Velez Sarsfield, Patrick Ebert and Diego Perotti.

A move for Sergio Canales has been mooted but it is thought Valencia would be unwilling to let the forward leave.

Bobley Anderson could be one to depart La Rosaleda, with Belgian club Zulte Wargem interested.
