Perez denies Madrid Neymar role

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has denied having any influence in the investigation into Barcelona’s signing of Neymar.

A journalist with RAC1 alleged the case was brought before the Spanish high court because of a request made by Perez to Minister of Justice, Alberto Ruiz Gallardon.

Perez and Madrid strongly deny the allegation and issued a statement in response threatening legal action.

The statement read:

“1. It is a flatly false assertion that aims to absurdly involve the President of Real Madrid with the judicial process initiated following the complaint filed by a member of Barcelona against President Sandro Rosell.

2. The Real Madrid President demands that the author of such misrepresentations rectify the allegation in the same medium clearly and immediately.

3. If this correction does not occur the President of Real Madrid will file suit against the journalist in defence of the right to honour, privacy and self-image. This has already been sent to the lawyers with the content of the allegations made.”
