Jese: Ballon d’Or in four years

Real Madrid forward Jese has revealed he dreams of winning the Ballon d’Or within the next four years.

The youngster’s Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is the current holder of the prize but Jese has targeted the award as a long-term goal.

“I’ve dreamed of winning the Ballon d’Or in four years,” Marca reports the 20-year-old as saying.

In the short-term, Jese has set a target for this season.

“My goal is to score 10 goals, to see if I can.

“I have to keep taking advantage of opportunities. I rely a lot on myself but I’m always respectful to my colleagues.

“Knowing the role of all the players at Madrid, you have to adapt.”

Jese scored the only goal of Madrid’s 1-0 Copa del Rey win over Espanyol on Tuesday evening and was grateful to Xabi Alonso for his assist.

“He gave me an incredible pass. He’s a great passer of the ball.

“I took the pass and scored.”

Despite scoring, Jese is likely to be dropped for the League game at Athletic Bilbao, should Gareth Bale prove his fitness.

It’s a situation with which Jese has no complaint.

“Bale is a great player. When he’s fit again he’ll show what a good player he is.

“The position is his and I have to keep working.”
