Cristian Tello admitted that Lionel Messi was to thank for his hat-trick in Barcelona’s 4-1 win over Levante.
The Argentine superstar set up all three of the youngster’s goals last night as they overcame the Granotes in the Copa del Rey first leg.
“He left me alone in front of goal three times and I have to thank him for that,” the Catalan told reporters.
“To have a player like that on the team is spectacular.
“Scoring a hat-trick gives you a lot of confidence. I’m very happy because opportunities should be taken advantage of.
“Levante were a team that made it difficult for us. It is a very good victory for the team because we’ve been a bit unlucky with our results.
“We were very intense and, in the second half, we converted our chances.”
