Diego Simeone has rubbished suggestions that Atletico Madrid’s draw with Sevilla was down to tiredness.
The capital club failed to pounce on their chance to go clear at the top of the table after Barcelona drew 1-1 with Levante.
But the Atleti boss has insisted that his side’s 1-1 draw with the Rojiblancos is nothing to do with burn-out.
“I don’t share your idea of tiredness,” he told a Press conference. “The draw wasn’t because of tiredness.
“Games are decided by different incidents more and more.
“I don’t think so. It was the game we imagined. We knew it would be resolved by incidents and that’s what happened.
“It was hard and even ugly, but very competitive with both waiting for the other to slip up. We got a point that allows us to remain in a privileged position.
“Other teams have started to play differently. Sevilla changed things around, particularly with Bacca and Rakitic, without letting us break away.
“This made it more difficult to create chances. But we have to look for alternatives.”
