Courtois: Sevilla played well

Thibaut Courtois praised Sevilla as the Rojiblancos came from behind to draw with the capital club.

David Villa had put Diego Simeone’s men ahead, but Ivan Rakitic’s late penalty ensured both teams went away from Vicente Calderon with a point.

“They have played well,” he told the club’s official website. “They sat back waited for our mistake to leave a counterattack.

“It's a team that has a lot of tall people with great physical ability, we knew it would be a game with many fouls and it is a shame that we have finished with a draw.

“It's a tough game, the field is heavy, but the team is physically well, we had four days to recover from Valencia.

“Today, Sevilla defended well and were able to get the 1-1. We have to keep fighting for Thursday's game.

“It’s just a football game, we have to go on because there are many more.

“We knew we could be leaders. We are always with his head in the game, Barcelona had played just before and the result did not get to us until the end. It's a shame, but there are many games.”
