‘Turning point for Getafe’

Getafe Coach Luis Garcia Plaza has said he is hopeful the 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad will herald a change in form for his side.

El Geta went two goals down inside 16 minutes through an Imanol Agirretxe brace but fought back to level the scores shortly after half-time.

Getafe were reduced to 10 men just after the hour mark when Borja was sent off and the Coach was adamant at his post-match Press conference that had they had 11 players, they would have won the match.

“We feel that without Borja’s sending off we’d have gone on to win. We were closer to winning than they were. I’ve no complaints,” Garcia said.

The crowd at Coliseum Alfonso Perez had started to turn on the home team before the comeback and Garcia did not criticise the supporters.

“It’s normal that they whistle then.

“The public has been very good. They’ve seen how often Getafe have gone forward in games.

“We had many chances.

“There’s things to improve but with this intensity we can go on.

“We want to continue like this, this is the right way.”

Garcia was also fulsome in his praise for the performance of the visitors.

“La Real have quality far above the rest of the teams.

“The sending off meant it wasn’t a great match.

“They come to you with three forwards and couldn’t do more than they did.

“Their top players are among the best in the League.”
