Bernd Schuster was pleased with his Malaga side as they came away from the game with Valencia with a point.
The Costa del Sol outfit drew 0-0 against Los Che last night, but despite a lack of goals, the German Coach was happy to have drawn with a good side.
“I think we really stayed on top of Valencia tonight,” he told a Press conference.
“They’re a tough team to beat, with a quality attacking display and good movement around the pitch.
“We really worked hard tonight and put our heart and soul into this game.
“We played one-on-one with the rival, which is what we were determined to do, but thanks to an excellent performance by both goalkeepers, here we are with a 0-0 draw.
“Both teams performed well upfront, which is why it’s always difficult to maintain a strong defence against Valencia, but we did have a few near misses.
“As I said, both Alves and Caballero were strong tonight, and the main reason why the match ended in a goalless draw.
“However we’ve improved somewhat since the first round, and at least gained a point. We should be pleased with our performance, as we worked hard in what was a very tough game.”
