Schuster: Pizzi has improved Valencia

Malaga Coach Bernd Schuster believes Valencia have improved since Juan Antonio Pizzi took charge.

Schuster added however that Los Che should be competing among the League’s top five teams given the quality within the squad.

“Valencia should be in the top five,” Schuster told his pre-match Press conference ahead of the match with Pizzi’s side.

“They have a lot of quality, but have done better lately.

“Pace and intensity will be important for us.

“We’re doing better tactically and we’re reaching a good level, but we’re not at our limit.”

Beginning with the Valencia match on Friday evening, Schuster’s team face a difficult run of games with Barcelona and Sevilla to come next in the League.

But while the German concedes Malaga should have done better in the first half of the season, he feels they are well-placed for the immediate future.

“We should have five or six points more.

“Not getting them has left us off the pace for the second half of the season.

“But I know the team better now. They never give up.”
