Malaga boss Bernd Schuster insisted his men deserved a draw after they went down 1-0 to Levante on Sunday.
An early David Barral strike was enough to give the Granotes all three points in Valencia last night, but the German Coach was adamant that his side were worthy of a point.
“It’s tough, but that’s what this competition is all about,” he told a Press conference.
“I think we did a lot of things right tonight and created goal opportunities, but we lacked the final push that we needed in order to equalise, which we truly deserved to do.
“We lost the match due to an oversight that led to the rival’s goal.
“It’s very easy to talk about the referee now, but I prefer to think that we didn’t convert scoring opportunities into goals, which is why we lost this evening.”
