Bartra: I now feel part of Barca

Barcelona defender Marc Bartra says he at last feels a part of things at the Camp Nou after his recent impressive form.

Speaking to Barca TV, the 22-year-old also insisted that on a personal level things have improved enormously for him this season.

“Right now I feel more valued within the team, with quite an important role, because I think the boss is not afraid when it comes to picking me in the side.

“Things are going well, and getting better, but I know I have to carry on working to seize the opportunities the Coach gives me.”

Asked about the injuries to Victor Valdes and Lionel Messi in recent months, Bartra believes that the team has not suffered because of them.

“Despite everything, we’ve pushed on and continued to move forward. We’ve not lost the desire to keep winning and that’s good for everyone.

“I was very happy with the way last weekend’s match went [against Elche] and I think it was very important to start the first match of this year here at home.”
