Gareth Bale declared himself pleased with his contribution to Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Celta Vigo on Monday.
The Welshman came off the bench on 65 minutes to replace Angel Di Maria and was instrumental in setting up Cristiano Ronaldo for Los Blancos’ third goal of the evening.
“It’s part of my job, which is not only scoring goals,” affirmed Bale in comments to Gol T and Real Madrid Television.
“I feel very good physically and my calf muscle is fine. I have no trouble with it and hope to be well with no more problems playing in what remains of the season.
“Hopefully this is a good start to the year and in 2014 this team can win trophies.
“I’m enjoying every day of life in Madrid and have high expectations.”
