Diego Simeone admitted his Atletico Madrid side were made to work for their 1-0 win over Malaga on Saturday.
A 70th minute Koke goal was enough to give the capital club all three points, but the Argentine tactician conceded that his side suffered for the win.
“We won as a group,” he told a Press conference. “But we had to because it was a very difficult match.
“It was stressful on the touchline – for a while it was unclear if we were going to win.
“Malaga tried to let us have the ball and hit us on the counter. And that worked for them because they defended well and stopped us creating chances.
“We’ll keep going game by game at see what happens at the end of the season.”
