Unai Emery has urged Sevilla to defeat ‘direct rivals’ Getafe this weekend, so as to begin to look upwards in La Liga.
Los Nervionenses head into Week 18’s return to League action against Los Azulones sat seventh in the table, one place and three points ahead of their opponents and with their Coach eager for three points.
“We have a really important itinerary in the League and we want to become challengers to the positions that we are close to,” Emery has explained to reporters today.
“We are playing against direct rivals and Getafe are one of those. Our next two games [Week 19 at Elche] can really determine our League and it is important to win for the points, for the difference with our rivals and to settle seventh place and start to look up.
“We are looking to strengthen the team’s identity and to do so we need adjust things at home. We cannot forget that of the last six games at home, we have won only one.
“In the League alone, we have won only against Betis in the last three at home and we have to be self-critical and be aware that we need to improve to win.”
