Toby Alderweireld has reflected on his belief that he has managed to prove his worth and focus to Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone.
The Belgian international was picked up in the summer from Ajax, but was made to wait for his debut and a chance to earn a regular spot with Los Colchoneros.
However, on from a move active involvement in the closing weeks of 2013, the 24-year-old has enthused at how he sees his progression.
“The adaptation process has been a good one and I am playing more and more so I am very happy,” Alderweireld has told UEFA’s official website this week.
“I proved to myself that I could do this and I proved to the Coach that all I want is to do my best for this team – I am really enjoying playing here now.
“Everybody here works very hard. We have some very talented and experienced players. Nobody here is bigger than the group and that's our strength.
“We play every game looking for the right result with our Coach urging us to go for three points, nothing else.”
