Fiorentina are the latest side to be paired with a possible bid for Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio this January.
Amid the 23-year-old’s noteworthy form for the Yellow Submarine in the first half of this season, speculation has grown as to the state of his contract.
Musacchio’s agent has hinted that his current deal only runs through to June 2014, but his club have dismissed this – as well as speculation over exactly how much they and former club River Plate each own – through President Fernando Roig this weekend.
Linked with Napoli, Barcelona and Manchester City of late, reports in Italy today have added Fiorentina back to the list of interested clubs too. La Repubblica suggest La Viola have €7m to try and tempt Villarreal with this winter.
