Tello only focused on work

Cristian Tello has mused that he is ‘only thinking about working every day’ for more chances to play at Barcelona.

The young winger yesterday continued his return from injury with a start for Barca in their Copa del Rey round of 32 second leg win at home to Cartagena.

On from recently commenting that he ‘might have to leave’ for further playing time come next summer, the 22-year-old has reasserted his current mindset.

“I am only thinking about working every day and I hope for the opportunities to come from the Coach,” considered Tello to Barca TV this week.

“I am back to 100% fitness and very happy to have played. I felt comfortable after the injury.

“We played a very intense match. Cartagena were very solid at the back and we found it hard going.

“Getafe at the weekend? They are a side that make it very difficult for you at their ground and on Sunday we’re going to have a tough match.”

Tello played his part in Barca’s win yesterday, with his cross deflected into the net for the Catalans’ second goal of the evening.

“Yes, it hit a defender. I was trying to cross to Pedro, who I’d spotted at the far post, but it bounced in off a defender.”
