Unai Emery has welcomed Sevilla’s draw in the Europa League Round of 32 with Maribor, labelling it as ‘favourable’.
Los Nervionenses, who won their group in the competition, have been paired with the Slovenian outfit in the first knockout stage of the competition.
“We welcome this draw,” Emery reflected to SFC Radio this week.
“Whilst always having respect for the opponent, looking at the teams we can be satisfied and I think that it is a favourable draw allowing for us to be competitive and beat them.
“They are the main team in Slovenia, they are first in their League, and to get to the Round of 32 tells us that they are an opponent with strength and that they will not be easy.
“Now we have had the draw, but we must get ready and focus on the latest aspect, which are the games against Racing and Villarreal.”
