Bartra calm on contract

Marc Bartra has reflected that he is calm over his future at Barcelona and says contract renegotiations are ‘on the right track’.

Speculation has continued since the summer over the centre-back’s future at the Camp Nou, with his current deal with the Catalans set to expire next June.

However, he has today looked to reassure that talks are ongoing and likely to reach a positive conclusion.

“I am calm, my renewal is on the right track. The club has given me everything,” Bartra has told reporters today.

“I hope to be here for many years and to succeed. I am happy because I have played more games than last season up to this point.

“I have to be ambitious and aspire to also play in more important matches. I have to keep working well. Others will play if it is best for the team.

“My goal is to make it difficult for Tata Martino. In my head is always to play and to start, but I know where I am and I respect the decisions that are made.

“A January move away? I am confident of being here. I am calm, but it is the club who decides.”
