Aranzubia happy with Atleti debut

Dani Aranzubia made his debut for Atletico Madrid on Saturday, and has insisted that the Rojiblancos are treating every game like a final.

The goalkeeper played in place of Thibaut Courtois during the capital club’s 4-0 win over Sant Andreu in the Copa del Rey.

“I had played a couple of friendlies but this is my official debut and of course I'm happy for having officially played,” he told reporters.

“Fields like this are complicated and we are very pleased with the result.

“Sant Andreu didn’t have many chances but with it being my first official game with the team and when you have not played for some time, the feelings are different.

“I am very happy with the game and especially since the team has got a good result."

“I did not ask whether I will or not play the whole Cup. In the end we have to train hard and be ready for when the Coach calls us up.

“I have been playing soccer for many years and when I play I will play the best I can. I was prepared to play today and I will be when the coach sees fit.

“Here we have a combination of people that are very committed and people who have a lot of quality.

“That mix is what all teams wish for. This team has amazing players who could play in any team.”
