Prandelli: ‘I’m not worried’

Cesare Prandelli says he has no worries about Italy being drawn in a tough group for next summer’s World Cup.

The Azzurri were placed in Group D alongside Uruguay, Costa Rica, and England, but of more immediate concern to the Italy Coach is the heat and humidity in the northern Brazil cities of Natal, Recife and Manaus.

“There are three champions of the world in our group but we are not worried – I am not worried,” he told reporters.

“When the media tell you it’s an easy group, that’s when you have to worry. I’m only worried about the conditions because no matter who you are up against, you’re going to have to deal with the weather.

“We’ve already played in the Confederations Cup though, so we know what it’s like to play in these conditions.

“Our toughest opponent? Costa Rica, because we do not know a lot about them.”
