Morata: I’m happy at Madrid

Alvaro Morata has outlined his determination to ‘repay the faith’ shown in him by Real Madrid, as he states: “I am very happy here.”

The youngster has somewhat dropped out of the first team picture at the Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks, through November managing just three appearances from the bench.

“I am very happy here and I feel the confidence of the Coach, Zidane, the entire coaching staff and the club,” Morata has made clear this week, though.

“I am 21, I am happy here and I want to be here for a long time. A player always wants to play. I am very happy here, the Coach has shown that he trusts me.

“I have been played in a lot to the games, which were difficult, and I am very happy and must try to return that faith that has been put in me.”

Morata has been paired with a January loan move to Arsenal or Tottenham.

“It is a question for my representative. I am very happy here and I hope to be here for much longer.”

The Under-21 international is in line to feature this weekend in Madrid’s Copa del Rey clash with Olimpic Xativa.

“We have great desire in this competition. This will be a big game for both the clubs and they will have all the desire in the world to play against Madrid, and we, knowing that we will have to face an atmosphere there, also really want to play this game and enjoy it.

“We have to play first, without discrediting anyone and knowing that any game is going to be important. This is a title and we will want to win it.”
