Busquets: No need to panic

Sergio Busquets says Barcelona are determined to return to winning ways and that there is ‘no reason to be alarmed’ after defeat to Athletic Bilbao.

The Catalans were defeated 1-0 by the Basques in Week 15 to make it two losses in a row, following the midweek reverse at Ajax in the Champions League.

“There’s no need to be alarmed, we just have to carry on,” Busquets mused to reporters after Sunday’s defeat.

“We have to win the two games left to play this year and learn both from our errors and the things we are doing well.

“Maybe Athletic pressed better than us  – they are stronger than us and that’s normal.

“It is hard to win if we have the chances but do not score. If the referee also does not do his job well then it costs us more. We have no choice.”

Busquets was talking in reference to Ander Iturraspe’s challenge on Neymar during the match, which drew a booking despite him appearing as the last man.

“I think it would have changed the game. He was just in front of the goalkeeper. I think it was a red card.”
