Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has urged his teammates to ‘keep their feet on the ground’ as they go level with Barcelona.
The capital club beat Elche on Saturday thanks to a goal from the youngster and another strike from Diego Costa.
The win sees them go level on points with Barcelona at the top of the table, but the playmaker has insisted that they have to be cautious.
“We knew it was going to be a very difficult game because we were going to push the boundaries in this field,” he told reporters.
“And it turned out to be like that. We knew we were going to have a tough afternoon and would have to take our chances.
“We always keep our feet on the ground, we think of ourselves, to keep doing the same things and play every game like a final.
“We must go on and I hope that when we can be here with just five games to play. We are going step by step.
“I repeat that we face every game like a final and we must continue doing that. We added three very important points.
“I am very happy with the season. I'm trying to do things right. I hope to continue giving to the team because it is important for the team and for me.”
