‘Villarreal going game by game’

Ikechukwu Uche has mused that Villarreal are not getting carried away by their continued form, insisting that focus remains ‘game by game’.

The Yellow Submarine are enjoying a strong return to La Liga and are sitting fourth in the table, a position made stronger thanks to Sunday lunchtime’s 3-0 win at Levante.

Scorer of the team’s final two goals in that game against Los Granotes, who saw goalkeeper Keylor Navas sent off early on, conceding a penalty, Uche has made clear that Villarreal are not getting carried away.

“We are looking at it game by game, going with the intention to win every game that we possibly can and we shall see where we end up,” mused the striker after the latest three points collected.

“Now we have to enjoy this and prepare for the next match.

“Today we have been patient. I did not get many chances, but I have taken advantage of those that I did get. The team has been very good, especially since the penalty.

“We are on a good run of form and must continue this.”
