Carlo rules out Italy job – for now

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has ruled himself out of the running for the Italy job after next year’s World Cup, at least for now.

Cesare Prandelli is widely expected to return to club football following next year’s tournament in Brazil and Ancelotti is one of several coaches being linked with the role.

However, the 54-year-old maintains he is not interested for the time being, insisting he is happy plying his trade at club level.

“You never know what will happen, but right now I like coaching on a daily basis,” Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.

The Italian also dismissed suggestions that Xabi Alonso could be on his way to Juventus.

“No, he’s happy with us and is too important for Real Madrid,” declared the tactician.
