Alcaraz laughs off Barca issues

Lucas Alcaraz is not concerned by Barcelona’s injury issues heading into this weekend, but does hope his Granada can imprint their ‘identity’ on proceedings.

Granada head up to the Camp Nou this Saturday afternoon with their hosts without a number of players through injury.

However, asked if losing the likes of Victor Valdes would affect the Catalans on the field, Los Rojiblancos’ Coach was clear.

“Ask that to Betis,” responded Alcaraz in reference to their Andalucian rivals’ Week 13 4-1 home defeat to Barca.

“Without Victor Valdes they have won the Copa del Rey before. We have been without Piti for two months, this is a situation that all the clubs have.

“The intention this weekend is to try to capture the field in our own identity and do the things that we have trained for.

“We must develop things better, because the more we do the less our opponent can.

“On Barcelona you cannot say much original, whilst we must be concerned more with what we want to do.

“The more we propose in the game the better, we hope to maintain our identity as much as possible.

“Would we take a draw now? It is better than losing, but winning is better than drawing. It depends on how the game goes, if everything is done well then the result will be good.”
