Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld has claimed that Thibaut Courtois should stay at the club next season.
The Belgian goalkeeper is on loan at the Rojiblancos from Premier League club Chelsea, but his club and international teammate has insisted that the shot-stopper should stay at Vicente Calderon.
“I’m sure Thibaut doesn’t want to be sitting on the bench for eight games and then play one,” he told Sky Sports.
“He is very intelligent and I think it would be good for him to continue at Atleti where he’s number one.
“He is an incredible player. He can do whatever. He’s good with the ball at his feet and great in goal as well.
“I see him train every day, and I doubt there is a better goalkeeper than him in the world.”
