Aperribay to continue at La Real

Joaquin Aperribay is believed ready to put himself forward for another term of office as President at Real Sociedad.

Since coming into the position in December 2008 with majority shareholder support, the Basque businessman has taken the club out of bankruptcy proceedings and into solvency and seen the team return to La Liga and last season qualify for the Champions League.

However, his delay in confirming his intention to continue as President had raised doubts heading towards this December’s shareholders’ meeting.

AS, though, believe that Aperribay is prepared to continue in the role and in confirming his candidacy would virtually be confirmed re-election due to still holding majority support.

It is seen that the President’s desire to try and redevelop the club’s stadium, Anoeta, is a driving motivation to override doubts he is said to have held over the time the job requires.

Last week reportedly saw meetings held at various levels both in San Sebastian and Madrid to discuss possible work on the ground.
