Schuster: We let our guard down

Malaga boss Bernd Schuster insisted his side ‘let their guard down’ as they lost 3-1 to Granada on Friday.

The Costa del Sol outfit went down to their Andalusian rivals last night, with Youssef El Arabi netting a hat-trick.

“As shown in previous matches, we were in control of tonight’s game and were dominating the rival,” he told a Press conference.

“But we let our guard down and lost confidence after we conceded the second goal.

“It hit us hard. We reacted well to Granada’s first goal, but the second one affected us badly.”

The German Coach then commented on Weligton’s absence from the side.

“Weligton has just recovered from a serious injury, and he started back at the Bernabéu which was a difficult game for us.

“Angeleri has infiltrated three matches so far, and was ready for tonight’s game.”
