Villarreal will be without Giovani dos Santos for the next two weeks through injury, so he misses out on facing Atletico Madrid.
The Mexican pulled up early in the second half of the Yellow Submarine’s Monday night win at Elche with a suspected thigh strain, with initial reports indicating he was facing up to a month on the sidelines.
The Castellon outfit have today confirmed that the 24-year-old has suffered a grade I strain, which whilst better than first feared, still rules him out of the next two weeks.
This sees Giovani as unavailable for Villarreal’s Sunday evening test at home to Atletico Madrid.
