Diego Simeone praised his Atletico Madrid team as they beat Athletic Bilbao on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from David Villa and Diego Costa handed the capital club the points at Vicente Calderon, and the Argentine Coach claimed that his men were superb from front to back.
“My team played a great game,” he told a Press conference. “The pace of our play was fantastic.
“I was especially pleased with our defensive work, and that started with the forwards.
“If we’re scoring a lot of goals this season, it’s because we are defending from the front.
“Everyone in the squad wants to play and get in the starting XI, and that competition for places is fuelling us.
“We are going well, and we’re looking strong – but our thoughts are just game by game. At the moment we are filled with pride.”
