‘Madrid have their weaknesses too’

Adrian Gonzalez has focused on the positive aspects in Rayo Vallecano’s favour for looking to upset Real Madrid this weekend.

Saturday evening sees Los Franjirrojos host their city neighbours in Week 12 of the Primera Division season 19th in the table and with two consecutive defeats to their name.

Even so, their 25-year-old midfielder says that the dressing room is looking forward to facing up to Los Blancos.

“They have their weaknesses, like every team, but they are fewer and for their technical and physical resources they are easier to hide,” considered Adrian in an interview with his club’s official website.

“It is a very nice game. One is always motivated to play against these type of opponents.

“It is true that we are in a lowered position, but if you look at the table, three points can bring us back into a very good position.

“So I believe that it is too early to panic and even more so knowing that this team is fighting and will fight to the end, in addition to playing a good game.

“For the players who are here and for the philosophy of the Coach, this is a game to be won like any other. We want to push up from where we are in the table and why not do so against Madrid?

“To earn three points would be a great morale boost for us and for our fans. Moreover, the game is played at Vallecas and that is always important.

“On the field I have experienced Vallecas as an opponent and it is not easy to face, especially for the fans.”
