Simeone wary of ‘tough’ Betis

Atletico Madrid play Real Betis later this evening, and Diego Simeone has insisted that it will be a ‘tough game’.

The capital club’s 100 per cent start to the season was ended last weekend at Espanyol, and the Coach doesn’t want a repeat of that this weekend against the Verdiblancos.

“We have to have a look who will be available because they have some knocks in defence,” he told reporters.

“Betis are a very good team that started well in the league and Thursday's result in Europe will give them a boost.

“I imagine a tough game, it always is against Betis. We’ll have to be very carefully against an opponent who has a lot of pace on the wings.

“The issue of Costa [and his international future] I evaluate on the field and in training. The other day he put in a huge performance and show a great willingness to recover put in a lot of effort. The truth is that it is just like he usually is.

“The only thing that worries me is that we keep thinking game by game and we will, if we do things well tomorrow we will be in a good place no matter what.”
