‘I’ve the right to call Diego Costa’

Luiz Felipe Scolari has reiterated that his future intentions may be to call Diego Costa up to the Brazil squad.

Reports continue to focus on the Atletico Madrid man’s intentions at international level, as he is confirmed eligible to represent either the Selecao or adopted nation Spain.

On from confirming the 25-year-old on a 45-man provisional World Cup list, Brazil’s Coach has once more outlined that there may be a future for the striker with his country of birth.

“Having played two friendlies with Brazil, there should be no way that he can play for another country,” Scolari has mused this week to Globoesporte, in reference to having already used Costa in two 2013 fixtures.

“It does not take away my freedom to choose.

“Only I will know if he will be called or not. But I do not take away that opportunity nor the freedom to decide.”
