Bale: Injury greatly exaggerated

Gareth Bale has insisted that his injury concerns have been ‘greatly exaggerated’ after he made his return to action yesterday.

The Wales international made a brief second half appearance in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Malaga yesterday.

And the former Tottenham man has claimed that the furore surrounding his back injury has been completely overblown.

“My injury has been greatly exaggerated,” he told reporters. “It was nothing serious.

“I am now over the injury. It took me a little while because I didn’t get a proper preseason.

“I obviously I have to go slowly. But I’ll do whatever the Coach tells me to do.

“Winning was very important for us. I think we played well throughout the match. We deserved to win, but now we have to focus on the next two games that are very important.”
