Morales positive for Madrid

Malaga midfielder Pedro Morales insists he is in a positive mood for the clash with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Bernd Schuster’s men saw their five-game unbeaten run brought to an end with a shock 1-0 home loss to lowly Osasuna last week, but the Chilean is confident Los Blanquiazules can cause a surprise against Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

“There are things we can improve on in every game. If we plan well for the match against Madrid and are intelligent I think we could do something important in the Bernabeu,” he told a Press conference.

“We are hopeful of getting a positive result. They have good players and a good Coach, but we also have our own team, our own players, and are doing well in La Liga.

“We had a good start to the season and only small details have seen some points escape us that could have been ours. That’s an aspect in which we have to do better.”

Morales admits he has been surprised to be one of the first names on Schuster’s team sheet when he has been fit this season.

“During pre-season I thought this was going to be a difficult year as I would be facing a fight for a place in a midfield, where there are a lot of players of great quality.

“However, I’ve played plenty of minutes and scored one goal. I think I can give even more to the team and I’ve just got to continue working,” he explained.
