Iniesta out, Navas, Negredo in

Juanfran Torres, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo may be handed starts for Spain in tonight’s World Cup qualifier at home to Belarus.

La Roja head into Friday evening’s match at the Iberostar Stadium looking for a win that could then bring them to within a point of securing automatic qualification to next year’s competition proper in Brazil.

Vicente del Bosque is seen to have few fitness doubts within the current squad, with Andres Iniesta the only one whose general condition has placed his participation in Mallorca at doubt.

It is believed that the Coach is favouring a more attack-minded set-up with his full-backs, with Juanfran having been tested at right-back over Alvaro Arbeloa.

Nacho Monreal is expected to take the left-back slot, with Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique sat in front of Iker Casillas.

Meanwhile, midfield sees Xavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquets’ positions assumed, with Cesc Fabregas set to take Iniesta’s position.

Indications from training also suggest that Alvaro Negredo will start in attack, to be flanked by Pedro Rodriguez and club teammate Jesus Navas.
