Silva or Koke against Belarus

Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta are back to full training with Spain, as Vicente del Bosque’s selection quandary is between David Silva and Koke Resurreccion.

The Barcelona duo of Pique and Iniesta sat out Tuesday’s sessions with La Roja in preparation for World Cup qualifiers with Belarus and Georgia as a precautionary measure.

However, Wednesday evening’s workouts at Las Rozas saw the pair emerge from the gym to join their colleagues, with it seen that both are able to start Friday’s match against Belarus in Palma de Mallorca.

It apparently leaves Coach Del Bosque with 10 of his 11 positions in the starting line-up determined, with only David Silva and Koke seen as battling for the final starting berth.

Iker Casillas is believed set to line-up between the sticks, supported by a back-line of Alvaro Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos, Pique and Nacho Monreal.

Midfield is set to be built with Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta, with Cesc Fabregas set for a false 9 role, flanked on the wings by Pedro Rodriguez and one of Silva and Koke. The Manchester City man is believed to be edging consideration.

Meanwhile, hours ahead of the team flying out to Palma de Mallorca, 12 of the squad were selected for anti-doping tests that were passed without incident.
