Alberto Moreno has commented on the ‘honour’ that it is to see Vicente del Bosque calling players up from the Spain Under-21 side to the senior set-up.
The Sevilla full-back is the latest individual to have made the jump up to the senior side, having been included in the group to face Belarus and Georgia in World Cup qualifying this week.
“It is an honour that Del Bosque is calling up players from the lower age categories,” reflected Moreno to reporters today.
“It means that we are doing things right, and if we come up, we intend not to fail.
“Eight months ago I was playing in Segunda B, so for me to be here with the world champions is amazing and I will look to stand up for it.
“I will work to try and make the World Cup squad. If I am in this squad then it is because things have gone well.
“I will continue striving with my team for this and to be at the World Cup.”
