Lopetegui advises Morata, Jese

Julen Lopetegui has made clear that Alvaro Morata and Jese Rodriguez must not get carried away with early praise with the Spanish Under-21 side.

The Real Madrid duo have led the way for La Rojita so far in qualifying for the 2015 European Under-21 Championship in the Czech Republic, having netted seven times between them in just two games.

“These are two guys who despite their youth fully understand what it takes to succeed, for their situation, the importance of what they are experiencing,” considered Lopetegui to reporters today.

“They are focused but it is clear that for the impact they are seen to have had and everything that is being said about them, it is not going to help them to play better, on the contrary.”

The Coach then turned his attention on to Spain’s chances against Bosnia and Herzegovina this Thursday evening.

“We’ve seen them play in various ways, against Hungary they were high up the pitch but in other games they have been more withdrawn.

“Let’s see tomorrow what they offer. They are not a simple team, it will be tough. They are strong physically and have four or five players who have the chance to play for the senior squad.

“Our current crop? There is a mixture of those born in 1992, 1993 and 1994, but we maintain a style of footballer similar to that which we have had previous, even though no two players are alike.

“We are happy and satisfied that those here could be with Del Bosque. That makes us happy.”
