Sergio Garcia has promised that Espanyol will use the international break to try and break a losing streak in La Liga.
Los Pericos are into the October break having lost their last three games on the bounce, including a 2-1 reverse in Week 8 at Elche.
“The players are secure. We will return to winning ways, we know that the season is very long,” considered Garcia to reporters today.
“The needs to rectify things that have not gone as we had hoped. We have this break to work and to arrive against Atletico Madrid in Week 9 in the best shape possible.
“The fans will not be happy with us. We knew that we would not win every game all year and at the moment we are on this run of form.
“We need to win, it is important for the team and for the fans.
“Certain opponents change the way in which they play against us. We knew what Elche [last weekend] were going to do and we were going to try and counter them, but it did not work out well.
“The game that we played at the Martinez Valero was not good.”
