Bale set for mini preseason

Gareth Bale will be put through his paces by Real Madrid staff over the international break so as to have him reach peak condition.

The 24-year-old has so far struggled for full fitness since his late summer move from Tottenham, picking up a number of niggling muscle-related complaints of late.

On from the latest one, a muscle contracture in his left thigh, ruling him out of Madrid’s midweek Champions League clash and also the Wales squad, Los Blancos are looking at the next two weeks to change matters.

It is believed that medical staff are planning to use the 16 days of the upcoming international break to put the Welshman through a mini preseason so as to boost his physical fitness and preparedness.

AS quote those at Valdebebas as optimistic: “At the return of the other national team players, with a good preseason, he will be at 120 per cent.”

Bale’s workout will include double training sessions each day under the supervision of club doctors and physiotherapists.
