Victor Valdes picked out Marc Bartra for praise after Barcelona’s win at Celtic, and that he sees the defender playing at the Camp Nou for years to come.
The centre-back started a second successive match for Barca this season in light of the continued absence of Javier Mascherano and Carles Puyol in the back-line.
Playing the full 90 of the team’s 1-0 win at Celtic, Bartra drew praise post-match from his goalkeeper.
“He played a great game, he pressed the opponents very well and also contributed in attack,” Valdes commented.
“He will be a centre-back at Barcelona for many years to come.
“We are very happy with the win. We have had control of the ball and have dominated the game, trying to open up the spaces.
“But this was a team that out of nothing with one chance could create a goal. The dynamics are good, we are winning many games and we must continue like this.”
