Lucas Alcaraz paid tribute to his Granada players for ‘dominating’ against Athletic Bilbao for a 2-0 win.
A second half double from Youssef El-Arabi ultimately proved the difference between the sides in Monday evening’s closing fixture of Week 7.
The result was Granada’s first home win of the season and has moved them up into 12th place.
“We played a complete game, the team has dominated the space with good co-operation from the players whilst the connection with the crowd has been very good,” enthused Alcaraz.
“After much uncertainty, people have been behind the team and given us encouragement.
“The team has worked with commitment, quite well, with passages of brilliant play in attack. We have dominated, mastered our opponent and had the chances.
“There was concern about not winning at home, but we have to learn to live with the good and the bad times.”
