Casado grateful to Malaga

Jose Manuel Casado has thanked Malaga for signing him up and has promised that he will overcome recent injury problems.

The left-back yesterday formally joined The Anchovies on a free transfer, having been without a club since leaving Rayo Vallecano at the end of his contract in June.

“I think the Malaga CF project sounds really exciting,” commented Casado at his presentation on Monday.

“I didn’t hesitate for a second once I received the call from Malaga. I am so grateful for this opportunity and the faith the club has shown in me since my injury. I will be eternally thankful to Malaga.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to return to playing football, and hopefully put everything that happened last season behind me.

“I’ve got much more confidence now and I’m thrilled to be here. I’m pacey on the pitch and handle the ball well, both in defence and on the attack.

“I’ve really liked the matches I’ve seen Malaga CF play so far, they’ve shown excellent game play and a solid defence.”

Casado is in the final stages of recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in May.

“Injuries never come at a good time for a player.  However with a lot of hard work and sacrifice, they can be overcome. I want to show the people of Malaga what I can do.”
