Emery happy with effort, not result

Unai Emery was left with mixed feelings after his Sevilla side drew 1-1 with Real Sociedad on Saturday evening.

A first half strike from Jairo Samperio gave the Rojiblancos the lead only for Antonie Griezmann to equalise in the second half.

The Coach, was pleased with the effort of his players, but not with the result.

“We wanted to play a game where the group was stronger than the individual,” he told a Press conference.

“We have to take steps to strengthen our identity, and that involves a strong defensive approach – and I think that’s something we achieved here.

“To say we are happy with a point is not true. We wanted to win. We need wins to offset the poor start we’ve made.

“But I am satisfied with the effort we’ve put in.”
